Glencorse Reservoir: A quick walk

The weather wasn’t as wet and rainy and snowy as predicted, so I took advantage of the relatively blue skies and took a wee walk along the Glencorse Reservoir in the Pentland Hills.

Of course, I really just wanted to stay home under my comfy duvet all day, watching rubbish television, but that didn’t seem to fit with my desires to prioritise me during the month of February. So, I had to bundle up and get some healthy fresh air and stuff.

(I’m glad I did, because I know that the more I get out and do things, the better I will feel.)

Anyhow, this post isn’t really about me—it’s about showing my Mum some photos from today’s walk. (A walk that she will easily be able to do as it’s a mostly paved track with ample places to sit and rest along the way.) I’ll look forward to going in the spring when the weather’s a bit nicer, too!

I just drooled over the mossy rock wall and the cute little cottages.  And was that a tire on the beach?!  All in all it looks like a very lovely walk.  I’m already excited to see it.  Oh!  And last night I bragged up the Falkirk Wheel!  If people visit Scotland, they really need to see and experience it!

I don’t know how we’ll manage to see everything you want to see on your next visit. You may have to make a list of must-sees and forget about a few places you’ve seen already. Or you’ll just have to stay for a couple of months!

The Kelpies are ready for viewing now, however, so we’ll have to see those on the way to the Falkirk Wheel.

Photos 32-35 are Loganlea reservoir and dam, not Glencorse.

Oh, I am making a list.  And even though I would love to re-visit a couple of the castles, I have plenty of other things that I want to see.  And, I think a re-visit to Roslin is in order.

We’ll need to discuss how long I’ll stay…and hopefully your dad can be with us for at least part of the visit…maybe the canal tour part?!

It would be great if Daddy could come, too! I know it will be a while before you’re in shape for international travel again, so I may even have a place of my own by then, too. (Which would be ideal, especially if you’re planning a long visit!)

When you’re ready to start thinking about another trip, we’ll break out the maps and figure out where you need to go. We’ve yet to do Fife or Aberdeenshire, so those will have to be on the list. Maybe even an island or two!

And I’ve yet to see Glasgow and the area around it.  And, I’m not sure we can really count Gretna Green, since we just made a stop at a convenience store, took a quick pic from the car and continued on our way.

And Fife and/or Aberdeenshire are on my list!  And the coastline between Edinburgh and the border, too.  There’s so much to do and see.

But, as with my other visits, we’ll probably make our plans as we go along!
