And I wait

I draw in a breath; long and slow
And I wait
Desperately, hopelessly
I wait

I wait for the words to seal my fate
I wait for my future to be determined

I gaze unblinking; dazed and overwhelmed
And I wait
Fearfully, tearfully
I wait

I wait for decisions to be made
I wait for plans to be discussed

I sit and tremble; confused and anxious
And I wait
Frightened, worried
I wait

I wait for hope to be presented
I wait for faith to take hold of my soul

I exhale; long and slow
And I wait
Praying, hoping
I wait
…..And I wait
