Starting my 2024 summer holidays
I am on my summer holidays again and I’m really looking forward to a few weeks in the homeland with Daddy. It’s a little odd leaving this time as I am leaving my castle behind. But I have arranged for someone to look after the place whilst I’m away. I also have a new Ring doorbell camera which will help me to feel a bit better about not being there.
Tiger and I spent last night packing – a task that was put off to the last minute because I was too busy in June to get things ready. I had booked a taxi for 5am which meant waking at 3am. But as I didn’t go to bed until after 10pm, it was more of a “nap” than a night’s sleep.
But the journey to the airport was uneventful and I had plenty of time to relax once I got past security. So I did what I generally do: I went to the champagne bar to enjoy a glass of fizz, an espresso, and a light breakfast before my flight. (Tiger rarely indulges in this activity, but he does keep me company.)
Our flights were uneventful and very spacious, as we each had our own seat. Tiger spent most of the flight napping (cats do that) whilst I enjoyed a film and read – attempting to dose off after dinner but failing (I generally don’t sleep on planes).
On arrival, my brother-in-law met me at the arrival lane with Cameron and a root beer. Both things that made me very happy indeed! Then it was off to my sister’s house for Taco Time and some much-needed sleep. Daddy and I will make our way to Cle Elum in the morning and then the summer fun will begin in earnest. I can’t wait!
