An Easter return
Wow! What a madcap, crazy month it’s been! But I’m back now; I have returned! And on Easter, no less. Not that my return is as wonderful and worthy of my Saviour’s return, but I’m not one to let a funny (inappropriately funny?) link go un-joked about.
But anyhow, there are so many things I wanted to share with you over the past month. Fun events, PhD joys, happy news, and a few mundane bits of nothingness. But I was so busy with life that the stories never got shared. Then two weeks ago I thought I’d share a story about my first half marathon of the year, but I got sick and never made it to the start line. And then I ended up so sick (and with a very low platelet count) that I was on bedrest for a week. And I’ve only just started to come out of the haze of it all.
I am really pleased to say, however, that the only negative in the past month was being sick. Everything else was really quite fantastic. And if I’m honest, being sick wasn’t too terribly bad, thanks to my lovely friends who kept my spirits in check with visits, messages, and even the other kind of messages!
I am sorry to say, however, that my busyness and subsequent illness meant that I was unable to share all of my happiness with you. But there are lots of happy things (and neutral-but-fun things) happening over the next few weeks, so I’ll try to share some of those with you to make up for this past month’s silence.
As for my platelets, they are starting to improve and I am now allowed outside to play again. So I’ll try to get out for a wee adventure tomorrow and I’ll try to share a bit of it with you here.
Anyhow, I’m off to enjoy more of my Easter feast. I hope you’ve had a lovely celebration of the glorious Easter return! (Mine and His!)
