Another half done
Well, that’s another half marathon done and dusted. Sadly it wasn’t my best showing, but I showed up – and I finished! – so it counts!
Yep, yesterday was my second running of the Edinburgh Half Marathon. And I have to be honest and say that I am terribly disappointed in my time. I think that’s because I did so much better than expected in Inverness back in March, so I kind of hoped I’d have an awesome time again. But, alas, a lack of training and a tremendous amount of rain got to me. As did a very sore knee. (See, I told you I’d make excuses!)
Still, I’m glad I did it and I’m looking forward to my next half marathon in September. (Or will I find one to run before then?) Then I’ll have a final half in October. (Or will I find one to run after that?)
I think I’m still going to be able to break 2 hours this year, but I’ll need to train harder if I’m to succeed. In the meantime, I will happily begrudgingly accept yesterday’s 2:21:06. (Which is better than my first Edinburgh Half Marathon, so that’s something I suppose.)
And that’s all I have to say about that. (Sorry if you were hoping for a mile-by-mile; I’m just too exhausted to go on about it today.)
As always, you can see more running photos here.
