Goal #2: To earn my master’s degree
Yay! I have completed this goal! See the crossed-out task list to see some of the steps along the way.
From the time I began university I had it in my mind that I would go on to earn my doctorate. As part of my undergraduate studies, however, I met a cute boy and life took a different path. One that included marrying the cute boy and living happily ever after. But the postgraduate degree was still on the table. In fact, Paul was my biggest supporter. With his encouragement and support, I had planned to start working toward my master’s degree part-time last fall, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it at the time because I was grieving too heavily.
But, it’s back on the table now. It’s what I want for myself, and I know that it’s what Paul would want for me. Of course, it will be more of a struggle now because I’ve lost my biggest cheering section, but I’m determined to do it and I know that there are others out there cheering for me, too.
