Sixty years ago
Today should be a big celebration to mark my husband’s 60th birthday. But, as with too many years before, he is not here to celebrate; he is not here to grow old.
My heart aches as I think of all the things Paul never got to do, like be a father or run a marathon and so much more. But I find so much joy in the memories of our life together and I am forever grateful for those years.
And so, as I always do, I am trying to celebrate today as best as I can. Because without Paul, I never would have known a love so profound, so powerful, so perfect.
