Tantallon to end
Today is the start of my birthday weekend, and my last day as a 41-year-old woman. So to celebrate, I’ve taken myself away for the weekend. Not far, just to North Berwick. But it’s a nice little village that I’ve been meaning to explore for a long time, so my birthday was a good excuse to do that.
I arrived in North Berwick this morning, and as soon as I checked into my B&B I made my way to Tantallon Castle. (Actually, my hostess at the B&B drove me there, which was very nice!) I then walked back to North Berwick along the coastal path, geocaching along the way.
Because I took the scenic route and stopped for photos and geocaches, the 3(ish) mile walk was a lot longer. In fact, it took me more than three hours to cover the distance. But it was so very worth it! Really!
I’m going to keep this short because I want to head out for a nice dinner – my last before turning 42 tomorrow. But here are some of the photos from my day’s adventures. (There were nearly 400 in total. It was hard to cut them down.)
Have a fabulous day!
Oh my goodness! That castle is stunning! Your photos show me so much more than I’ve seen on the net. There must be loads of nooks and crannies to explore.
And I loved the photos of the beaches and limpet shells. Such golden sands and the shells were so colorful! Glad you’re having a good time.
It’s definitely a castle you would like, though the winds might be too much for you. Still, we can easily do an overnight in North Berwick and bag this plus Dirleton Castle and the Seton Collegiate Church. First step, of course, is to plan when you’re coming to visit!! 🙂 xx
Yeah. I need to get a handle on this pain I’ve been having. If I can’t grip stuff it’ll be difficult to travel. The walking would be fine…but what about the mugs and glasses of beverages? THEN I can make plans.
Dirleton has been on my list for awhile now. Of course, there are plenty of other places I’d like to see, too.
I hope your get the pain sorted soon, too, even if it doesn’t mean a trip this way. I’ll try to figure out a way to get home for a visit soon though, too. I love you and miss you much!! xx
