Wrapping up 2015
With 2015 quickly coming to an end, it’s time for a bit of reflection. And as I look back at my hopes for the year, I am pleased to say that I’ve succeeded in all but one of my hopes – the desire to learn how to sew a skirt. But I didn’t even attempt that one, as I realised it isn’t a truly important goal for me. And so, I’m calling the year a success!
Although If I’m honest, the year started with me in a very negative and unhappy place. Between the death of a dear friend, PhD struggles, and the accumulation of smaller stresses, I really did struggle to stay hopeful and optimistic. Eventually, however, I did manage to get a grip of the stress and things began to get better. And, happily, the year seems to be ending on a relatively positive note! In fact, there were several positive bits of news over the last two months that will help to create an extremely positive start to 2016!
Some of the happy things I enjoyed in 2015 include:
January: Exploring castles and hillforts
February: Geocaching with a dear friend
March: More geocaching with more dear friends
April: Even more geocaching and even more friend time
May: A lovely day out in Glasgow (ending with dinner with friends)
June: Spending time with new friends
July: A fun cocktail evening with a group of fun ladies
August: Visiting an ancient chapel with a wonderful friend
September: A personal best marathon time!!
October: Visiting more fun castles around Scotland with a friend
November: A wee trip to Wales with my brother-in-law
December: A wander along the Ayrshire coast
I am really looking forward to 2016. I have some fantastic plans for the year and I can’t wait to share some of my adventures with you, either here on the pages of Just Frances, or in real life!
